These hour long open meditation sessions include several guided meditations as well as a brief discussion. Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome. The meditations and discussions are led by clinicians trained at the UMass Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Clinic.


Mindfulness Meditation Course for Stress Reduction

Mindfulness Meditation is a powerful practice that helps to alleviate the stress associated with intense negative thoughts and feelings triggered by emotional and/or physical pain.  This five-week Mindfulness Meditation Course, offered throughout the year, promotes healing from pain. 



Mindful Living Workshop

When: 4 Tuesday evenings beginning Tuesday January 23 from 7:00pm - 8:15 pm

Mindfulness Meditation provides an opportunity to truly experience the present moment for the duration of the meditation session, and has been shown to improve the health and wellbeing of people who meditate on a regular basis beyond the practice session.  Mindfulness principles can also be directly applied to the challenges of daily life. Living more mindfully, we are able to perceive and respond to our circumstances in ways that are more effective, productive, satisfying.

In this 4-session workshop, participants will have an opportunity to learn or enhance their practice of Mindfulness Meditation.  Additionally, through discussion, individual, and group exercises, as well as suggested “homework”, you will learn to apply mindfulness-based skills to the challenges of daily living, including coping with internal stressors like negative thoughts and emotions, as well as situational stressors, such as trying to balance work and family, challenging interpersonal relationships, and, generally, living in a complex and constantly changing world.

Group Coaching for Mindful Living

For individuals who have completed the 4-session Mindful Living Workshop, these Group Coaching session, scheduled approximately once/month, will allow participants to review and apply strategies, as well as deepen their Mindful Living practice, on an ongoing basis, with the input and support of fellow participants, as well as the leader.
