There is no doubt life has become more challenging. Many people are finding it harder to cope with the increased stress and demands of daily life. Each stage of life presents its own challenges and often the transitions require the development of new skills.

My clinical work is guided by the notion that when treated with respect and given positive and honest feedback, most people can make the changes they need to feel successful.

I employ a practical approach to therapy that combines problem-solving strategies to cope with daily stressors with introspective psychotherapy to deal with long-standing issues.

I work with clients to enhance strengths and abilities, by exploring and understanding how past experiences effect current functioning, and helping people to come up with their own solutions.

My specialty is working with children, families and couples on various issues impacting families today. These might include relationship difficulties, managing chronic illness or learning disabilities in children or adults. I also enjoy working with families who are managing chronic mental illness. My ten years work in a neighborhood urban clinic has provided me with experience in a full range of parenting issues.

I received my Masters in Social Work from Simmons College and then completed my training in the Department of Child Psychiatry at Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School. I enjoy my affiliation with Cambridge Hospital, where I continue to work as a child and family therapist and supervisor, training the next generation of child therapists.
